A former Scottsdale bank got a million dollar makeover. But it won’t be dispensing cash to customers. Instead, medical marijuana.
Harvest Scottsdale opens to the public Wednesday. The 6,800-square foot medical cannabis dispensary on Hayden Road near Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. is the second Harvest location in the Valley, the other is in Tempe. The facility has patient advisors and a doctor with office hours to educate patients.
“There will be an open house. People with or without patient cards can come to the facility, tour it and hopefully leave with an appreciation for what the medical cannabis community is about,” Harvest CEO Steve White said.
White said Harvest Scottsdale stands out from the crowd because of its investment in making sure the customer has a positive experience. It has 11 check-out terminals, a spacious shopping area, plus offers various programs for patients and caregivers.
Scottsdale resident Bevin Barrett has been going to Harvest Tempe to get medicine for her 7-year-old son Xander, who has epilepsy. She said the support group that Harvest offers, Harvesting Hope, was reason enough for her to bypass the many other dispensaries in the Scottsdale area. Now, that won’t be necessary.
